If confirmed cases increases schools may remain shut till further notice- Minister of State for Education
The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, has
apologised for the continued closure of schools in the country.
He said that the Federal Government reopening of schools
alongside worship centers according to health experts and the NCDC have not
guaranteed any safety.
Nwajiuba added that the ministry is planning tirelessly with
vice chancellors, rectors and others, to allow campuses to resume academic
activities gradually in the next phase of lockdown easing.
The Minister also stated via a statements released from the
report of the PTF “we are sorry, schools cannot resume or reopen alongside churches,
mosques, and other organization because health experts and the NCDC cannot
guaranteed the safety of the
Nigerians which involves the
students, for as long as the numbers of confirmed cases increases I am
sorry schools may still remain shut.
