Union has trashed a report that students had stamped the governor for a second term, noting that the Akeredolu’s administration had inflicted untold hardship on its members for the past three years.
NANS TO ONDO STATE GOVERNOR AKEREDOLU: WE DO NOT SUPPORT YOU AND REQUEST RETRACTION OF TUITION FEES YOU SHOOT HIGHER.
The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS is reputably the shield of Nigerian student origin, both within and overseas.
We have sensed with utmost dismay the news&rumor of the purported endorsement of the incumbent governor of Ondo state, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu by students in the state. We saw it in public domain like other students and the general public. In the pictures making the rounds, the governor was seen raising four fingers of his two hands up, also we haven't approved governor Akeredolu or any aspirant for that matter.
The students movement is not known for such alliance, especially with a government that has constantly disregarded the Union and her million of members in the state, thereby causing untold hardship on the flow system of education and students well-being
Nigerian students are watching all the aspirants across parties, looking at their credentials, manifestoes and blueprint, to improve the educational sector and other sectors of the state.
The alleged fraud of 4.3billion naira, a state resources saved by the previous government has remained in secrecy. We have it on good backup that 430million naira paid to a consultancy firm belonging to one of the governor’s family member and the complete disregard to all questions is not only appalling but gross failure in service to the citizens.
We demand that the governor should sort out the following;
1. Understaffing of OSUSTECH.
2. Unpaid salary of staff in the state owned tertiary institutions.
3. Mobility for students on campuses and other basic amenities.
4. Deteriorating structures.
5. REDUCTION OF FEE PAYABLE ACROSS ONDO STATE INSTITUTION.
The plight of students under the present government has rose astronomically.
governor Rotimi since assumption of office increased tuition fees from an average of 30 thousand naira to 150, in Akungba and from 70 to 150 thousand, 200 thousand in Osustech.This has led to thousands of students dropping out from various academic race
We unequivocally demand the reversal of the tuition fees which you shoot up sir.
Finally, we urge all good spirited sons and daughters of the state, who have ambition to govern our state to continue as we are observing and following on your manifestoes.
Nigerian students in Ondo state will be a factor to who becomes the governor of Ondo state come 10th October election.
Nothing shall hindere us!
